    Default prox's as limit's and home switch's with a c10 bob

    hello,
using PNP prox's for limits and home switch's with input ports on a C10 breakout board. Do I set the jumper to pull up or pull down?

    THANKS!

PNP proximity switches can only pull the the C10 breakout boards inputs up to +5V and not down to 0V / ground
( you would need NPN proximity switches to ground the input )

so it looks like you need to use the jumper to select 4K7 pull down resistors on all the 5 inputs

the problem is when this conflicts with other switches connected between an input and ground - for instance a touch probe
the solution for the touch probe is to connect a resistor between a +5V terminal and the probe input , thats a low enough resistance ( 300 to 470 ohms ?) , to pull the input up to + 4 or 5V and over riding the breakout boards pull down resistor

are the NPN proximity switches normaly closed or normaly open ??
and how many do you intend to connect to each C10 breakout board input

    John
