    Default Holy Cow!!!

I downloaded ImageToGcode and created this sample cow Gcode so I made another video with a walkaround of the machine parts.

Victory!!!! Nothing like when your machine cuts for the first time. I like the Randy's name of Mini Me or even Mini Mec and lastly Mini Mate.

Keep an eye on that Harbour Freight trim router as they have known to burn up on the machine.

    Congrats

    Jason

    Question R U finished?

    nguyenst,
I THINK NOT! Now the finish work and tweeking begins. Alignment, limit switches, home switches, E-stop, hard stops, dust shoe, and don't forget a sacrificial table with hold downs, perhaps even a vacuum table. You get the idea. I don't think anyone actually finishes there machine, as there is always something to tweek, upgrade, repair, etc.

I see you titled your video "Mini Me cutting Cow", thanks for the nod. But I must admit, Jason's suggestions sound good also.

    Decisions, decisions, decisions.....

    Randy,

    I may not be good....

    Randy,

I'm no where near finish!! Your right on the money with that list. None of the bolts are actually tighten correctly( torqued) so they might start to vibrate off. Most of the bolts need to be replaced with correct length ones or cut off. I still need to take all pieces apart and paint or redone. I want to still modify a few points on there to make it all fit better. I was thinking about redesigning the four plates that I had manually cut so that they also act as a hard stop for the y-axis. It would be nice to combine it into a single pieces on each side also. Of course this is version 1. I plan on making a couple more machines with improvements. I've already had offers to purchase this one from friends that own shops.

    Jason,

I like the name suggestions. I'm thinking about putting RED stripes instead of the blue Mechmate stripes on this one. Any suggestions? Any cool names that will go with RED stripes? The twin Y rails from the side view looks like the letter 'M'. How about this one we call it Mini Max or M&M ..hhihi.. I plan on building a larger version which will be 4x8 for some buddies that need to cut larger pieces. I can call the bigger one Mega Max!!!

The bigger one could also be Mega Mate.

Still thinking of something to go with red stripes.

I've been busy with other things and didn't get a chance to do any more on the CNC. I should be able to update more after this weekend. I'm gonna start taking it apart so I can get it painted and put back together correctly. This will give me the opportunity to add the limit switch, dust collection, cable management ,etc...

Get your popcorn and beer nuts ready !!! I should have more updates next week.

sorry.. been busy building my friend a sink base for his condo. I got the CNC router taken apart , ready for reassembly and paint. I hope to get it put together between work and the kid's spring break. I promise to take time off and go to the beach.
