That would require some creative CAM manipulation, I don't know of any canned cycle that would do that automatically, maybe a G73 or G83 could be adjusted to do that. Not sure if Multicam will accept a G73 drill cycle. Since all of the actual drilling cycles is the same for all holes, you could put that in a subroutine and just hand write it with G1 moves to do what you want. EnRoute is a PITA to make it do non standard things.
Agreed! I'm always trying to find ways to 'trick' the program into doing things I need it to do. Did you teach yourself G-Code? I work for a sign company with a background in graphic design so I've learned a lot of what I know on my own. Been programming for 6 years and operating for 5 but I've never been exposed to anything other than EnRoute.
I think I might be able to accomplish that though... if I need to. I could run almost all the way through the material with one pass (leave an onion skin) then I could take the last little pass at a different feed. EnRoute will let me do a separate feed rate for a final pass. Maybe I'll try that if the burr becomes a problem. Is that similar to what you're describing?

Yes I taught myself after I bought a CNC machine, about 4 years ago I couldn't spell CNC or G-code But I am a software developer and controls engineer so it was just learning another language. I've been a machinist/tool & die maker for about 50 years.

If EnRoute will allow a finish pass at a different speed the I would say you have it made. That is exactly what I was describing.

Best of luck with this project. Let us know how it works out.

It's good to know that everyone starts somewhere near the bottom. I took a very short course in computer coding over 10 years ago so I understand the concepts (roughly) but that's about the extent of it. Thank you so much for having the patience and interest to help a green hat like myself. I will let you know how this goes once I get my bit and start cutting. THANKS SO MUCH!

I think the fastest way to make holes on a 1/4 aluminum is a CNC punching machine, damn it can make 3 holes in one second
