If you are familiar with the DIY CNC Router forum, Louie Atienza started a really nice stickied post there detailing just about everything you wanted to know and then some on CNC router bits:

Seems like I'm beating a dead horse with this, but then again, it is the tool forum ha.
I finally starting to actually make some stuff with my CNC wood router and it's about time I grow my end mill selection. I currently have a couple flat end mills (1/2, 1/4, 1/8) and a few v bits (1/2 - 90, 5/8 - 60, and 1/4 - ??). I think the flat end mills are two flute up spiral. All but the v bits coUld afford to be replaced.
I'm looking to get a good varitiy (5-10) and include some ball nose for detail work.
Also, some suppliers would be handy too.
Thanks
BR

I generally use 2 flute downcut spirals.
Good brands are Onsrud, Vortex, Amana, Whiteside.....
I've had decent luck with Yonico bits from Amazon, which are pretty inexpensive.
For small bits, look at Drillman1 on Ebay.
