    Hi all ive got a graph turning tool to use on tool 21 on my star sr-32j but i need to alter the soft over travel limits but dont no which parameters it is i need to change any help would be greatly appreciated

    I am not familiar specifically with your Star machine, but parameter 1320 is the + soft overtravel limit and 1321 is the - soft overtravel limit on nearly all fanuc machines
    The parameter is in millimeters regardless of your input unit.

    If you change it, I recommend that you carefully find where the hard limit is, as on some machines it is very close to the soft limit. TO find the hard limit, you can change the value to a larger one, then very slowly hand wheel the axis towards overtravel. While you do this, go to your servo load monitor screen (push: Position -> extend -> Moni), and stop when you see your servo load increase steadily. That is an indicator that you have reached the hard limit. Once you know your actual hard limit, you can convert that position to milimeters, add a .01" (or more) safety buffer and enter that value into your overtravel parameter.
