I'm working on a furniture project that will require that I make my own hardware (plates and such). Been doing a bit of research to decide what brass to use. I understand something like 353 is best, but I have only found it in 1/16" thickness (gauge?) and I really want something a little thinner. That stuff is expensive too! Whew! Anyway, thought I'd ask what others have tried and what worked or not. Also looking for sources. I've looked at Online Metals, MSC, etc.

I'll be cutting the plates with my CNCRP Standard machine with a Bosch 1617 router. The plates will be around 1" wide and maybe 3" long - ballpark. I am planning on recessing the plates into wood. Some may have to be bent around corners or slightly curved.

Thanks,

Tony
