I hate to admit this; I have not used my cnc since april due to yard work, home repairs and visits to doctors! I would guess that other forum members are also occupied with other task judging by the low activity lately on the cnc forum. Today I uncovered my cabinet saw to cut a couple of boards for home repair and thought this would be a good opportunity to cut a new spoilboard.
My existing sb has threaded inserts on a 6" grid. I've not been happy with it because it lacks flexibility for clamping. I also made a couple of rookie mistakes which damaged it in a couple of spots. I'm going to try a T-Track setup and I made good progress in a couple of hours. I cut the new mdf 5 5/8" wide with a 3/16" by 3/8" rabbit for the T-Track. This makes each section 6" oc which will hopefully allow me to use the existing threaded inserts in the base to bolt the new sections. I had enough mdf to cut 4 extra pieces for later replacements. I hope to mill all of them to bolt to the base soon so I can start some Xmas presents.
