Default Thinking of downsizing - any thoughts?

I have a pro4824. it fits pretty tight into my work space and I need the floor area.
Thinking of selling it and getting a benchtop.

Anyone done this? does it sound like a crazy idea?

That really depends on what your needs are. If a smaller machine would do what you need, then yes, it's a good idea. But....,.The day will come when you say, ''I wish I had a bigger machine''. Sounds like you just need a bigger shop.

There are usually ways to make more space. Make sure everything is on wheels. Some things that are not used very often can be stacked or suspended using ropes and pulleys easy enough. Consolidate some smaller machines to use the same stand. Just have the table swivel around and lock into place. Consider tools that you really don't need. Do you really need a water heater or washer and dryer?
For what it is, the 4824 is a pretty large machine. It could easily be converted to an 8 or 10 foot long machine. That is part of the beauty of the design. It fits our needs perfectly though as is.

you can make a stand such that you can stand the machine on end when not in use, and youd5gain about 6 sqft of space
