Has anyone converted their CNC Router Part machine from the original design using cold rolled steel to the newest linear rail design??? In particular using the red steel gantry risers?

It can be done because I did it before CNCrouterparts came out with their new design. I wasn't happy with the wear on the soft 1018 cold rolled steel with V bearings so I changed it my own way. The 3" x 3' aluminum angle was milled flat and square on a milling machine and I mounted all the linear rails on 1/2 x 1-1/2" aluminum bar stock because it is much flatter than the extrusions themselves I'm sorry if the photos are dark I can try to provide better ones tomorrow
Thank you! I knew there had to be someone who had done it.
My thought was to mount the linear rail directly to the extrusion, but I was concerned about the flatness as well.
I'm thinking of some type of aluminum plate to meld the original red steel gantry risers to the linear rail blocks. But I need to get some samples and see how it would all fit together.
What size linear rail did you go with??
There's through holes in steel for rail bolts and is connected to extrusion with T-nuts. Since I already purchased the 2 1/2" x 1/4" cold rolled steel to be used with the cncrouterpart carriages I decided to use as a mending plate for cross brace extrusions and use for rails to sit on. Thought it was a great idea back then...lol Machine is still being used today.

What size rail did you use? One or two blocks?
Thanks. Looks line an upgrade is in my future.
I am very interested in upgrading my CNCRP Pro 4X4 with linear rails. My cold rolled steel rails are wearing away terribly. Can you post or send me some more pics of your machine, showing more detail on how you did it. I think you really came up with a great idea!
My steel is not wearing at all. I can sell you mine if you want !!!
