my mill a 1994 arrow 750 has vibrations when plung milling and light heavy cutting. also i noticed after indicating a vice in then i crank on the studs to tighten them , on a 6inch vice i can move the table .002 by pulling on the wrench.. it does go back and stays indicated but i dont think it should move at all... does anyone know how to tighten up the play in the head and the x,y movements.. or is the bearing blocks shot or something. also as a side note my program(bobcad) software breaks x,y arcs into short straight segments and the machine jumps like crazy when trying medium to high feed...would anyone have any suggestions thank you, chuck |

| obviously it shouldn't do that! check ballscrew thrust bearings and the ballscrew itself for loss of preload. Thrust bearings are easy to replace and the ballscrews aren't that tough to change either, just need to know the proceedure. I remember reading somewhere that one of the upgrades or ?? for BobCad changes segmented arcs to full arcs; check their website. |
