    New Cincinnati Sabre Spindle Drive

I have a Cincinnati Sabre 1000 VMC that I am rebuilding and retrofitting new controls. I am replacing the X-Y-Z motors and drives. I would also like to replace the Fanuc spindle drive, but use the existing spindle motor. The motor is a GE/Fanuc 18p/10000 200V motor. Does anybody have any recommendations on a drive to use? Thank you.

    Hey man....

I am afraid I cannot help you with this but I am kind of in the same boat. I just purchased a nice used Cincinatti Arrow 500 VMC for my shop. I am going to repair the original control or at least try to repair it. Do you care to share what kind of retrofit you are using or what parts you intend to use on your machine? I may wind up having to go the retrofit route some day with this machine and the iron is just nice enough to make it worth while. Do you plan to use the factory servos? Anyways good luck and how about some pics. This forum seems to be REALLY dead around here and I hope to be able to wake it up a bit. Peace

    Pete
