    Cincinnati CNC lathe

Looking to buy a mill and lathe to put in my home shop, I have a little bit of experience with Haas cncs, but have never even touched a button on another brand. This machine is for sale on ebay and it seems like a very good deal (I am sure posting it here if anyone sees it and it is the good deal I think it is it will be gone before I can buy it) but I wanted to see if anyone had any comments good or bad about a machine like this.

Looks a little big for a home shop!! Before you go for it, ask yourself this.

Do I have enough room for it?
Do I have a large enough electrical service for it? 50 hp is a lot of spindlel motor!
Do I have 3 phase service?
If it breaks, can I afford to have it worked on? Big machines mean big repair bills!
Are the parts I make all large parts?

If you answer yes to all of these then maybe it could work for you. But before you make your mind up ask yourself some more questions.

How much will it cost to move it to where you live and get it unloaded and set in place? 28,000 lbs is a lot to move around.
Can I still get parts for it???

Cincinnati's are built for 24/7 production and are good machines, although I am not familiar with this one's particular control. I have simular one about half the size of this one (a few years newer) and it still purr's right along without hesitation.
