Here are the very basic things to answer: Do you have the tool length in the tool table? Did you put that tool into the spindle with an M6? The correct Tool pocket number has to show on the CNC or it won't register the length. You don't use an H word to activate tool lengths on an A850 like a Fanuc does. Remember, for the A850, the tool length in the table is very close to the length you'd measure from spindle face to tool tip with a scale. HTH Ron

Thanks, i have 5.5 in the tool table, i have h1 set to x 12. y 10. z 10. then i go to mdi, put in :t1m6g90h1g1f50x-3.y-3.z3.$ but it still goes to x-3.y-3.z15. it needs to go to x-3.y-3.z18.5 i need to get a copy of an op manual, i will go and check it again, Thank you for your help, i know it is me doing something wrong, Thanks again,

Let's start simple. Forget fixture offsets for now. Perform a G99 in MDI to clean any offsets. Also an H0. Start with an empty spindle and no tool number shown on the CNC. With a tape measure, the distance from the table to the spindle face should be the same as the Z value displayed on the screen. Now, for a tool. Place a tool in pocket 1. Set the length in the table, using a tape measure from the back of the flange to the tool tip. Now, T1M6 in MDI. Again, using a tape measure, the distance from the table top to the tool tip should be the same as the Z value on the screen. Let's hear from you what happens. Ron

OK...put each tool in the pocket manually, and set up the tool table to match them. Now you have to use the CNC to precisely measure each tool. I will have to remember exactly how to walk you through that...I'm out of town right now and my info is at home...
