Trying to Recover from a Hard Drive Failure

As stated about the hard drive failed. We got a new one from seimens and software from mag. The machine now boots and enables but I have a list of errors that pops up immediately and was hoping someone could be of help. Still waiting for seimens to call back.

    Run Off Information
    See cause (7)

1.) The machine doesn not have a second Tool Drum. The spindle cannot be oriented to the required postion.

2.)This Machine is not configured for a high torque spindle. The spindle align cycle looks for the presence of PR_C_TPA switch, not fitted on this machine.

3.) The Z Axis tool change position has not been set

4.) The Z Axis drum clearance position has not been set

5.) The Z Axis second drum tool position has not been set

6.) The tool changer has been set to diabled is this intended

7.)The control option for Thermal compensation has not been enabled

8.) The machine does not have a double arm tool changer

9.) The C axis tool change position has not been set yet.

For the record the tool changer is 21 slot single drum it is the older control so I think that the orientaiton is handled by the kollomorgan drive.

It has been a while since I have had to replace a hard drive like this, but if I remember correctly, the procedure when installing a new hard drive is:
    1) Install Hard Drive from Siemens (preloaded with Base and NCX level software)
    2) Load Cincinnti MAI software
    3) Restore Machine Dependent Data backup (M1Y-****.bck)
    4) Enter Option code from Siemens

I would always then verify that the options content and machine settings are correct.

Since the fault (7) indicates you have an option issue:
Did you enter the Option Code from Siemens accurately?
Was there any problem with the Machine Dependent Data restore process?

I think maverick is on the right track there, it sounds like you haven't loaded the m1y-** file. Please tell us you have a backup copy of the m1y file!
