Hello, I just bought a 1992 Maxim 500. Its a B machine, Im just curious of what I have to look forward to. Does anyone know what the difference between the a and b model is? Also, it seems a bit large for shipping (wide). Does the tool changer unbolt or does it just overhang the truck bed? And, what about full 4th axis? is it possible to cut in it or is it turn/stop/lock/cut? Anyone have parts available for the inevitable? Thanks, Kyle - The Monster Shop |

| Those machines aren't my specialty, but I'm pretty sure the B models had the newer style (yet still obsoleted) Siemens axis drives. The 'A' models had the older "open frame" style of Siemens axis drives. You should have no problems cutting with the contouring rotary. I have quite a few electrical parts in stock for the control and axis drives. Might even have a motor or 2 in stock. |
