Hey guys, First post here... I just bought an Arrow 750 and it is in place in my garage, but I'm still about 2 weeks away from getting it running. I had a used rotary phase converter lined up, but decided to get a Phase Perfect digital at the last minute. Looks like 2 weeks for delivery. I was wondering if there is a way to boot up the controller on this thing (A2100) with out having the power hooked up to the machine. I'm thinking if I just plug the power supply into a wall outlet that should do the trick, but I have no idea how to turn it on. I want to do this just to get networking issues worked out ahead of time, which leads me to my next question... I noticed today that there is a pci slot on the main board. Can I install an Ethernet adapter in that slot, or do i need to get my hands on an old ISA type card? Thanks in advance for the assistance.. |

| I guess you could figure out a way to power up the control without the whole machine getting power, but I don't think it would be of any use... The I/O and drives wouldn't be getting the correct signals to the control so that it would initialize - so I don't think you would get past the 900000 alarms you'll get. I seem to remember that my Arrow's control is set to run on 220 as well... not that it couldn't be set to run off 110 - but then the monitor power doesn't come from the control computer. Honestly I don't think that would be worth your time. I think mine has an ISA ethernet card, I'll take a look tomorrow to be sure. Rgds, John |

| Yes, it is up and running. Everything seems fine. I'm super glad I decided to go with the Phase Perfect. Voltage between the 3 legs is spot on. Now all I need is my furnace guy to show up and hook up the heat and I should be ready to go. |

| You need to perform the Align procedure. Press the Align button, on the pendant press F1 (Align Axis) and hold until the Z axis goes up, then down again and then you can release. The machine will align the Z, Y, X, and lastly C. Next you will need to align the Mechanism (which is the tool changer). You need to know which pocket the toolchanger is on first, then press F2 (Align Mech) and a query will pop up on the screen asking which pocket the carousel is on, if it is correct hit the F2 button again - or it will pop up another window asking which pocket it is on where you will need to type in the correct number. DON'T GET THIS WRONG - if you enter the wrong number the machine will accept it but then have problems later. Then finally, if you have a pallet changer you will need to press F2 one more time when it reminds you to to sort out the APC. If you don't have one, you won't need to do this and the control should show Alignment Complete. You'll then need to go into Set-up and create a set-up or activate one that's there. Send me a PM with your e-mail address if your still having problems getting it going. I can try to send you some scans of the procedure. Rgds, John |
