    Help with spindal fault message

When it turn on the spindal it will either do 2ish low rpm rotations the stop, or not come on at all. Then will come up with thisone alarm.

    Cause:
the spindle enable signal has been set on by the a2100 control but is not recieving the spindle ready signal from the kollmorgen spindle drive.

    remedy:
check the active led on the spindal drive see if it is aluminated
make sure fault led is not on
check condition of axes drive overloads.

If any can give some info please........

yes the right light is on. And just like I said if you press cylce start to run a program the fault message in my previous post comes up.

Now I was running it fairly hard with lots of chatter and vibration the spindal slowed down and broke the endmill during the cut.

How can I get that red light off?

    not enough to go on.

best guess: you have an output IGBT or driver shorted and so if you push go button at the right time it is putting out ok for a very small portion of a second - long enough to get current into the motor and give it a kick so it sometimes moves a small amount and stops.

Only test that seems valid to determine where the problem is: remove Ma,Mb,Mc motor leads from drive. power up again and see if fault lite comes on: if drive is probably shorted. If not, motor or cable has short.

If fault still, then it still might be the feedback resolver bad too. not sure you could check that - too complex.

Id recommend if fault still on w/o motor you send it in somewhere for repair. PM me if you want us to help.
