Unable to boot Arrow 500 A2100

Hello, we recently bought a Cincinnati Milacron Arrow 500 A2100.

The two button batteries in the computer unit died, so we replaced both of them.

We updated the BIOS information to reflect the correct default settings. However, now the computer will boot to the 'OS Loader...' screen and then shut itself down. There are no flashing light or error codes.

We have been going back and forth with Siemens technical support but I have to run production and have no time for messing around.

Looking for someone in the Jacksonville, FL area who has experience with these machines to come in and get it up and running and also set the correct parameters as we do not have a backup or any documentation.

Thanks

Adam

with the a2100 first thing to always do is take the power supply and work station board out of machine and hook to an old cpu monitor. often times the control will boot up this way. then you install back in machine but remove realtime board/ io board/ servo board and do not plug in anything but the monitor on top of workstation board especially the keyboard as often many problems are caused by a faulty key board. if machine boots up power down and install one board or item at a time until it will not boot up again. note that just because you plug the servo board in and it will not boot up again does not indicate that it is that board but maybe something that plugs into it. you can also swap boards between machines just make sure that if you swap the basic bridge board you remove it from the back plane and leave the chip with the machine it goes with. the little eprom chip on the back plane can not be moved between machines as the control looks at that chip for serial number and options on the machine. i wish i lived closer to you as i have many years experience on the a2100. also there is only one guy at siemens that actually seems to know the a2100 perhaps gti maintenance technologies could help ask for mark nichols he has been working with these a long time.

adam, pm mallardfiz on this forum; he might be able to talk u thru this. I know the servos and spindle on these machines not a2100, but I have seen enough posts by mallardfiz stating that if u let battery die on one of those two boards (cant remember which - search the forum) and power off machine, you cannot fix it without help from someone who has the files that got lost and knows how to reload theml. period. Again, I only am repeating what has been said many times on this forum by the ones who know the facts in hope to save u time with board swapping and getting non cmi experts in to help.
