    Acromatic 850sx - Keyboard issues

Bought a used Cincinnati Milacron and found that keyboard is worn out. Need help with finding replacement or how to rebuild keys. Have taken unit apart and cleaned still not able to get all keys to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What we have done is replace the most used buttons that don't work with ones from the keyboard that are not used or seldom used. There is some stuff you can buy to replace the conductive coating on the rubber buttons but I can't seem to find the info on it. I have replace a few rubber button with small PCB push buttons soldered in place at a few place were someone used a pen or some other sharp object to operate the button and damaged the PCB

    Company that rebuilds Acromatic controls.

Found a company online that rebuilds the Acromatic controls. Gave them the model number of the keyboard assembly I had and he sent me a quote. The company is: Radwell International Inc. / 111 Mount Holly Bypass / Lumberton, NJ 08048. The phone :800-332-4336 and email : PLC Center MRO Inventory and Industrial Repair Service. They quoted me complete rebuild of Acromatic 850 keyboard for $90.00 plus tax and shipping total was $117.00.

    Too good to be true?

Has anyone gone ahead and attempted to have PLC Center repair the 850SX keyboard per the $117 quote? I'm just about dying here to find out if this is a bonafide quote, or just a simple misunderstanding. If you've had it done, please let us know the results. Personally, I couldn't even get a local tech here to "clean" the keyboard for that amount, let alone rebuild it.

    Here is your simple solution

Once upon a time I had a sabre 500 850sx. Rick remembers those days. Several buttons on the keyboard were not working. I took it apart and cleaned the electrical board and some started working, then I took it apart a second time and cleaned the small round pads on the backside of the rubber keys. More of them worked but not all. Finally, I took it all apart a third time and on the remaining 2 buttons I used this:

Chemtronics Rubber Keypad Repair Kit - Small | CW2605 | Chemtronics

Turns out the rubber keys are the same as you find on a tv remote control. This stuff is like a paintable silver that allows you to paint the backside of the keys and make them like new. It worked like a charm and as you can imagine was extremely satisfying. I am a perfectionist.

    Hi Rick!
