I have an older Cincinnati Machining Center which uses variable shiv pulleys for spindle speed control.
I need to remove the fixed pulley half on the motor shaft but can not figure how to release the shiv from the motor shaft. There is a bronze spline piece on the inside of the shiv which also is split but I can see no way to release it.
There is also another shaft inside the bronze piece which can be loosened but not removed by turning a socket screw deep inside the shaft.
Nothing I have tried which includes hammer puller on the loosened shaft (with this shaft tight or loose makes no difference), trying to drive the bronze piece deeper into it's internal spline, attempting to use the socket screw inside the shaft as a jack screw in both directions.
Any of you out there know how this is constructed and could give me some ideas on how to remove the shiv? If someone had a cross section drawing they would be willing to share, we could probably go from there.
Check the pictures. The close up is a little blurred but gives the idea.

Thanks for any and all help,
