I am getting a couple of errors I can't get a handle on. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. This first one isn't much of a problem it is a error 00009 Service Switch ON. I simple reset it and go on, but if there is something that needs work I would like to know what it is. The second issue is probably not good. I get a System Fail 58, If mostly happens somewhere in the tool change routine. I have to reboot to continue on. Any help would be most welcome. Vince |

| The service switch isn't a problem. There is a switch on the control itself in the cabinet to turn it off. It basically turns the service menu off. I usually tell people to leave it on so you don't have to open the panel every time you need to look at the service screen. System Fails in the 55-58 range can get ugly. They are usually caused by a noise problem, or something is shorting out putting voltage to ground. I would start with the wiring on the tool changer arm just to make sure its not grounding out. Does it do this when you operate the T/C manually? -Tom |

| Hey Tom thanks for responding. No we do not have any trouble in the manual mode. We will check the T/C wiring and see what we come up with. Most of the time the 58 error occurs when the tool changer is out, and the more we run it the less we have the error. For the first couple of hours in the morning yuck, by noon lots less problems. Well thanks that gives me a place to start. Vince |

| I hate admit it, but I fought this problem for years at a customers shop on one machine. It was a 20vc 3 axis. It ended up being the wiring that went to the control. That machine had the op station mounted on a swivel. The wires had rubbed through at the top of the arm, and would randomly shut the machine down. It always seemed to be during certain functions of the machine causing the problem. |
