Intermittent spindle squeal on sabre 1000
Just when we thought we had this thing running good {sabre 1000} the spindle started to give a intermittent small squeal with a corresponding spike in the motor load indicator not all the time starts of ok for about 3 minutes the starts to give a sort of chirp sound every now and then does anyone know where to check first also it does have auto spindle lube whats the beat way to check to see if that is working properly

The spindle has a toothed belt so it is not a belt squealing. I would suspect that the spindle motor shaft bearings are going bad when under a load. Can you take the top off and try to isolate the noise??

Thanks Mike for getting back to me turns out that the churp is the spindle motor restarting what seems to be happening when the spindle is running at say 3000 rpm it looses power and the gets power back almost instantly [the churp and spike on the power gauge on the screen] when we ran the spindle at 500 rpm this lose of power takes longer to return so you can see it slow down and come back on any idea where we should check first
