Hello, we have a problem with our spindle. This has the Siemens spindle drive. When try to stop the spindle, the drive will drop out, letting the spindle coast to a stop. We are running at 1000 rpm. According to the operator, this started after there was a fluctuation in voltage in the plant. thanks.
It sounds like you have a bad braking resistor or circuit. Try to reduce the spindle speed in 250 rpm increments or less to 0 rpm. What error does the spindle drive have on it?? Send a pic of the spindle drive.
Thanks for your reply. This is a Siemens spindle drive (SIMODRIVE). We did try your suggestion about stepping down the rpm in increments, but it drops out regardless. e.i. 1000 to 800 rpm drive drops out. We get alrm F42 on the Simodrive, and Alarm # 14068 on the crt. The main problem we have besides the actual fault, is we don't have any manuals for this drive. Thanks.
