Hello David,

You may want to change parameter 2802. That is the safe Y position before it goes to the tool holder. I have a 5 x10 machine and I have set 2802 to 3078mm.

I have changed 2802, the problem is that there isnt enough room between the table and changer to move any further away. I would warn anyone buy a router to go with the 5x10. It takes every inch on the 1325 to process a 4x8 sheet.

David,

I know on my machine the back of the dust hood hits the tips of the tool holders when it's cutting at the extreme +Y end of the vacuum table. Is this the same issue you are having? I agree with you that the tool holders could be a little further away from the table. I was thinking of trying to move them when I have some time.

Yes this is the problem that i am having also, but after a tool the tool comes out of the holder to the 2802 stop, and z raises up. After this motion if the tool path dictates a x move it hits. If i could add to the tool change macro to make the spindle move -2" before any addtional commands i would not have any problems with a 4x8 sheet.

MLC 76 Not Define ERROR

Andreas-
You can get this error if you don't have a toolholder loaded in the spindle.

Network Connection

Hello All,

Has anyone have any success in connecting the Syntec controller to a network? I got some information from Taney, but have not figured out how to connect. Look forward to any help you can provide.

Thanks, Mitch

MLC 25 error

hello Nokta CNC

The error message is the following:

Message ID="AlarmMsg::MLC::ID=25" Content="A+ hardware stroked limit exceed" />

I'm not sure what is causing this. Do have 4 axis machine?

If you give me your email address I will attach the error code files I received from Taney.

Good Luck, Mitch

my excitec shms1325 arrived since december and up till now it refused to work upon all the useful postings on the forum- i am almost fraustrated. i get the following error messages:

1).When I did M6TX in MDI mode, I got the following error messages “ motion 17 z axis positive software limit exceed” and also “coordinate 40 the 1 NC program L1 block end point exceed software limit”.

2). When I try to run my gcodes, I got the following error messages “ motion 18 z axis negative software limit exceed” and also “ coordinate 40 the 1 NC program L 11 block end point exceed software limit

Also I noticed that when I move the router head towards the tool bank, as soon as the head passes the cutting limit and move towards the the tool bank, I get this error message, “motion 17 c axis positive software limit exceed.

i will be very grateful if anybody can help me out, believe me it is fraustrating. i have been in tontact with excitec and they cant help i believe its partly because of language barrier.

An important notice for Syntec controller users

Fellow Syntec users,

Our machine has was down for over two weeks. The controller crashed loading a file. We ended having to rebuilding both the System and User C/F cards. We are still not able to get the tool changer parameters re-configured, but will hopefully get that resolved this weekend with the help of two new cards.

After two weeks of scratching our heads, trying numerous things, and through a process of elimination, we managed to figure out what caused the problem.

The name of the file was too long.

I know it's hard to believe, but I wouldn't try loading a file with a name more than 20 characters. The file that crashed ours was 26 characters. The same file crashed our system 5-6 times. When we finally got the controller back up and running I wanted to prove my theory that it was the file size and was willing to risk having to spend another three hours rebuilding the cards to prove it. I renamed the file to something 4 characters long, loaded it and it ran just fine.

The only upside is that we are becoming a lot more familiar with the Syntec controller, would be nice to read about it in a manual, but sometimes we have to learn the hard way.

Just wanted to give all the Syntec users a heads up.

Also want to thank our friend in China, I don't think he wants to be named because he is no longer with Syntec, but those of us on here know who he is. Thanks for all your help and continued support!

Happy cutting,

Spencer

PS. We have also written a V-Carve post processor for the Syntec controller that includes the tool changer settings. Those interested can email me at spencer@kkcnc.com for details.
