Power requirements, running a Chinese CNC in the US

I am exploring the possibility of running a Chinese CNC here in the US, but wondering about what will be required, power-wise in order to do so.

Here we have 480v-60hz 3 phase, and the machine is spec'd to run 380v-50/60hz(?) 3 phase. The supplier initially said my best bet was to source the transformer locally, but then said he could actually sell me one too, but didn't have the ability to test it since they don't have 480 there.

Have any of your done this before? Any recommendations?

I am surprised they wouldn't rewire machine for you. I bought 2 machines from Maxicam CNC and the big 1530 was originally offered at 380V which they rewired for 220V. There was no extra charge for that. Quite frankly I don't know if they had to rewire anything since most spindles are available for various voltages.

Dust collector too was originally 380V changed to 220V

Machine works well even though I have to generate 3rd phase via Rotary Phase Converter.

I would ask your contact again for 220 V

You should be able to source a 380/480 3ph transformer, sized for the load requirements of the machine.
The other is to find out exactly what requires 3ph 380? If only one motor such as a spindle, it may be either cheaper to replace the motor or use a VFD.
I am surprised they do not cater to a export market, they use 380v as this gives 220 between phase and neutral, 1ph.
