Red face I bought this on E-Bay

This is my little router, so far it has been an interesting thing to play with. I am hoping that by reading these forums I will obtain the essential information I to finally produce something worth selling. If anyone has tips on how to make this machine more versatile, please feel free to shoot me a letter.

sure, designing is easy for me, not building !
i don't have all the tools needed to build (lathe, miling machine) to make something accurate

I thought I had it fixed, spent two days etching a photo of my kids into some pine only to have ti come out 'stretched' so it did not come out looking at all like the photo, it was oblong.

I pasted the specks form the web page below, any idea what I am doing wrong and why I am getting oblong images? I am sure it has something to do with the 'screws' setting right? But how do I get them set correctly? I'm lost

There are a number of sellers of this size machine on eBay. (Just search for cnc router 6090 (or 6040) ).
Looking at these they all seem to be identical regardless of seller. Not sure if this means they are all built by the same source or just from common plans. The electronics are mostly from Yoocnc who also sell/make machines.
Look also at Sun MicroCNC or Amonstar.

I have a 6040 CNC router that I bought from eBay seller tool_zoom.

Hi Fabrice, happy new years. :-)

If you check out http://cncdiy.org/ they sell the 600x900 desktop machines and will load up an ebay auction to your required specs.

I looked at them for a while before deciding on the heavier machine. There were at least four sellers listing them on ebay last year. Maybe they're all on holiday for Chinese new year already? :-).

Cheers, Chris H.
