Many of the small Chinese CNC Routers, typically the 6040s, spec a 110v version for the US market. These include a 800W Spindle & 1.5KW VFD. But, I have not been able to get an answer whether the spindle and VFD still require 220v or whether the VFD does an up conversion 110v one phase -> 220v three phase. Does anyone know what is typically provided. Anyone have a US version of a 6040? Edit: Numerous views, but no answer. I do realize that 220v is preferred, but does anyone have any experience with a 110v setup? Thanks... Last edited by gbrose85; 11-03-2011 at 03:16 PM. |

| I am also trying to find out if they really have a 110V version of their spindle motors, as mentionned in their spec sheet. Example here: HIGH SPEED 0.8KW AIR COOL MILLING AND DRINDING INVERTER SPINDLE MOTOR v | eBay If you ask them, you will get a reply like this: dear friend this item both canuse with 110v and 220v But as is known, if you run a 220V motor on only 110V, you will get only 1/4 the original power out of the motor. I asked the same question to another seller, and he replied : dear friend you can buy this one PROFESSIONAL 1.5KW 7A 220-250V 2HP VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE INVERTER VFD b | eBay So instead of replying about the availability of a 110V motor, he tells me that I can buy a VFD... Does he mean that this particular VFD could be run on 110V and drive a 220V motor??? That drive is not specified for 110V in the specs... I would dearly like to know if anyone has ever managed to get one of those 110V motors. I planned to use an Emerson Commander VFD, that is made to run on 110V. Alternatively, on one of those 220V chinese VFDs, if I was to input the same phase of 110V on two terminals, and the neutral on the third terminal, would that work? Altair |

| I ordered a CNC 6040 a few weeks ago from "industry-village" on eBay. The seller goes by a number of names on eBay (location is always San Leandro, CA), but in the end the seller is apparently lovehappyshopping@hotmail.com. In any case, I waited a few days and upon hearing nothing about my order I sent a message asking when I could expect delivery. After several messages back and forth (always with a reply starting with "dear friend") I finally figured out that they were out of stock in the US and the shipment coming to their US warehouse from China was delayed. After only a slight complaint from me, they offered to air freight the machine from China via DHL at no additional cost. Six days later I had my machine. I was stunned at the great customer service! Anyway, to my surprise the machine I received was a 110V model - controller and VFD are both 110V. Communicating with them is tough as their English is pretty rough (though infinitely better than my Chinese), but the service I ended up receiving was top notch. I suggest being patient and polite, and keep asking them in different ways for a 110V model. I know they can get them! |

| Thanks Qubert ! I'm glad to know that they can really obtain the 110V models. Have you checked on your spindle motor to see if it is also marked 110V ? I wil contact them again with my request, in the hope of getting a better answer. Funny how there are so many company names, and they are all mysteriously located in San Leandro... Altair |
