Default 6040 height setting the Z axis

Hello Group, I have a Chinese made router and I was wondering when using the height setting gauge, is there anything I have to setup in Mach3 for it to work or after I plug it into the box will it just work?

    Thanks,
    Eric

    Hi,

I don't know the answer to that but would like to.

I've just been setting the cutter tip on the surface using a page from the phone book, and manually entering the necessary Z dimension on Mach3 to suit the program.

    Cheers

The first question is do you have an open input pin? If you do there are many scripts for Mach3 that will allow you to use a height setting gauge. Check on your controller which is probably parallel port based and see if you have an available input pin. If you do it is very easy to add a script in Mach3 to do height sensing. There are many videos on youtube and instructions on the zone, just look in the Mach3 forum.
