Lee,
Great fly cutter, looks awesome. See if I can get hold of one here in Sweden. I mill much foam and I think Cabitool cutter would work great on Styrofoam.
Thanks
Daniel
Hi Anna,
I´m not looking for any machine, already got one machine.
I´m looking for styrofoam cutting tools.

Hello,
a question SolidCAM can use and create the g-code for syntec 6MA?
I think almost all cad/cam programs create g-code, the questions is do you have a post processor that works with the Syntec 6MA in SolidCAM, if you don't have one I could look at modifying one for you if you can supply me with one of the existing post processors from the program. I have made post processors for both Vectric Aspire and Artcam that work with the Syntec 6MA ATC machines.
Let me know if you would like help
Cheers
Lee
Thank you very much for your reply, although I have no machine but you need to know whether the SolidCAM software is fully compatible with Syntec 20AM.
I think this is the most appropriate control system,i am looking for a machine to metal engraving
ask on the solidcam forum if any one has a post for what you wont

Hello Syntec Lee,
Hello XYZ-TEch,
Hello Others.
I recently got a machine and started learning SYNTEC... LEE thank you for your videos...
CAN ANYONE show me how to tech the machine where to pick up tools in the tool holder?
I have a machine with an auto tool length touch off.. and a row of tools in the back... it's a linear tool holder setup...
The machine only knows how to pick up tool 1 and 2... I need to tech machine how to learn correct position for tools 3 to 8...
CAN ANYONE HELP?
I also worked for 2 days going through many system settings and parameters... but some are hard to understand.
I did adjust my rapids travel or cutting travel... but I don't see where you could teach the machine the tool positions.
CAN ANY HELP with some ideas or Tips?
Tank you in advance... the manual has terrible English... and Mach3s windows interface seems way more user friendly...
Thank you for any help in advance..
Daniel,
How is your experience with Syntec Going?...
I just started to use it... or learn it for a few days.. and my linear ATC machine doesn't work correctly to pick up tools 3 to 8... only 1 & 2 work ok...
Do you know how to teach the machine where the Auto Tool Sensor location is?...
Do you know how to teach the machine where the individual tool holders are?..
Are you happier now with the auto tool sensor functions?... using the 3811 parameter.. and external Z height seems to have some logic... Is it working out ok for you?
Thanks for any input.
Hey Frank,
I have no major problem with the Syntec controller and/or the tool sensor. Works similar to my Fanuc on the lathe. I use a different method of touching of the material than Lee but it works similar.
Regarding the placement of the tools for the tool changer I found someone who explained how it should be done to get it to work here at CNCZone.com.

HI
I have a new Syntec 6MD with Linear ATC, I am experiencing problems with the tool pick up. The Spindle doesn't always release and drags the tool through the tool support fork. I have looked at the operation carefully and it looks like the tool forks don't align with the home position position on X axis so I am considering adjusting this position which I presume is a parameter setting to adjust the travel after the X limit has been found.
If anyone knows this parameter and more information I would be very grateful.
P.S Is it me or is the manual very hard to understand?
I have
I am also looking for how to set some parameters for the tool change
Hello,
I have adjusted all possible parameters in the Syntec system.
Got the parameter somewhere and will get back with it.

Hello,
Please see Brenek´s post. Might help.
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/chines...e-3-print.html
I fear I have to do this on my second machine (3-axis), on the 4-axis I have the same position for toolchange (rotary changer).

Hi
Thanks for your help.
I will wait and see what Omni (manufacturer) have to say tomorrow as the after sales guy wasn't there today. I've read the Brenek article. However it seem like a sledgehammer to crack a nut because all 8 tool holders are out by the same amount so surely if X home position can be adjusted then its the problem solved as far as miss alligment is concerned .
There must be a parameter that adjust the x home position, its the one that tell the plc to move a certain increment distance forward then back after being sensed. My machine goes + direction by approx 25mm then - direction by approx 20mm. So I am wanting the "-" to be say 15 mm instead.
Should be easy if only I had the parameter number
Thanks anyway
Will post the conclusion hopefully.
Sorry
I am still reading and theres more about parameters further down.
I am going to try them now and see what happens
Thanks and apologies
Will let you know
Hey,
Some parameters are relatively easy to find.
Do the toolchange in MDI mode, and when the spindle is in the wrong x position, hold the movement, now you have a machine position in the screen for the X position.
Like X =123,456 then find the parameter with value 123456. Then jog the spindle to the correct x positon for toolchange.
Change value in the parameter according to above. But before changing any values in the parameters, write them down to be able to go back if anything’s wrong.
Can do a parameter backup also.

Hi. Ok I follow that bit. Just not sure how to search for value. ?

Ha ha. ! Page up page down !

I've solved the problem by changing parameter 881. This controls the X Asia him axis. All I did was changed the vale by + 30 which equates to 3mm which is how much the tool holders were out by.
Thanks for help it certainly put me in the right direction.
