True but it's nice to read other people's experiences before buying. I can do repairs/adjudgements myself but knowing from others what product you are buying is a great help.
buying a machine from anywhere is a risk unless that machine has some one that comes with it.
just because someone gets a good machine from some wear does not mean you will get a good machine.
If you have the ability to fix a machine your self or know someone that can help you its worth the risk my machine still just cost less than getting a machine from someone who backs up the machine as they have rebuilt it.
or from a good suppler.

correct but not everyone can fix there machine so you are better of saying I got this machine it was a good machine for me then you are not putting your self in a position where some one can come back and say you are full of S___T .
that machine the op is looking at will be a very solid machine but there's still a chance it rubbish, the machines you are referring to are good machines but the controls are a problem with them some of the time so it makes it 50/50 that the machine is any good.
I am just say what I learnt when I did my teaching course is if you cant be 100% certain what you are saying don't say it, refer to it include this may be wrong but have a look or this worked good for me but it may not work for you

The alternative is paying double or triple for machines build in the western hemisphere with often a less rigid frame than there chinese counterparts......
I would not agree with that.
you buy the machine to suite your requirements if speed is not an problem you can get away with a lighter machine, if you need a machine for doing fast and heavy work you get a big strong machine.
or you get wont you can make do with to you can get bigger and stronger machine.
I my self will not recommend any machine as I have not used a machine that is being made now that is a good machine.
I would recommend the controllers that I uses as I have had them for a number of years with out any problems and they have good backup ESS and gecko

I understand the recommendation .carving-cnc.com machines are lightweight aluminum frame, for my work I need strong structure and less vibration possible, the construction of the machine is very important for me, a completely flat table and leveling on four corners I think it will be a high precision.
You recommend use the mach3 control system,, Gecko g540 is the driver for stepper motor? and backup ESS? i no know
before I can answer your question.
what is the maximum size machine you wont
list all materials you wont to machine
do you wont fast or slow
what is your budget how much money do you wont to spend
the above determines what type of machine you would like to have

I need a machine the size of the table 4040 is enough for me, my work is similar to want jewelry making small molds (that is to have an idea), very small letters engraving tool I use 0.1mm.
the material to be used is steel and hard copper (electrolytic copper).
My budget is 10000 usd
I think you would be better of with a cnc mill not a router as you can get a small machine about the size you wont within you budget from a north america or even your end.
there are quite a few you can find by looking through this forum what will have a lot of the answers to you questions

In this video is clearly seen what I want engraved on steel, please wait the answer from people with experience with this type of engraving
SALE CNC Router Milling, CNC Laser, CNC plasma machine, China, Servo Motor Drive, UK, USA, Italy, Spain, Thailand
@2100kg I think this machine will do the job for you. Problem is I can't find any review, not even a youtube video about this machine.
You better find a new or used mill from a well known company..
he needs a machine that can work harder materials like a datron but for a lot less money I suggest a cnc mill, as a router spindle does not like slower speeds the machine he first looked at suites the bill but the spindle
would need to be changed to one that can handle slower speeds like a,small tormach, novakon pulsar or such like.

most router spindle run from 5000 rpm to 26000, 30000 or 60000 running at slower speeds does them no good as they are made to go fast to cool there self, most people use a slower speed spindle for working with steel like what you would find on a cnc mill, yes datron mills can do what ever you wont but they cost about 100x more than you have to spend.
I had a look at some speed and feed charts for engraving steel they were all suggesting between 5000 rpm and 7000 rpm to engrave steel that's why I said for you to go look at some speed and feed charts so you can see what the speeds you can go for what you wont to machine.
if you get a cnc mill you will be able to cut what you wont all day every day and it gives you the ability to do other stuff.
also what ever you get from china may not be any good.
it may have to be rebuilt if this is not a problem for you go ahead and get what you wont.
if you don't have the ability or access to people that cant help you may be buying a big paper weight.

The problem is lack of torque at low rpm, not temperature these spindles are water cooled.
not all are water cooled you can get air cooled ones as well and they do get hot at low speeds my one when cutting at 15000 rpm gets quite hot and its water cooled through a 20 litre container of fluid and its got plenty of torque doing a 9 mm deep 1/2 inch cut at 1250 mm/min it sits at 9% of torque when doing the cut.
and yes I know if I get A $20000 spindle it will be fine at low speeds as that's what it is built to do.
that is why I suggested getting a mill as it will do all he wants plus some, he can get a very good machine for his budget from up north from where he lives.
he could get that machine he first posted about but if it turns up as a lump of ____ he may not be able to get it fixed, so he is better of getting something that will more than likely work from day one, as in a tormach, novakon, or what ever

I use a small radiator with 2 temp. controlled 12cm fans and a 5 litre container, no problem with heat here (800w spindle).
I have a 3 hp spindle it only gets hot using big cutter running at 10000 to15000 rpm these cutters are used for cut outs so it gets done in 2 passes only running for 20 - 30 mins or less, small cutters are run between 18000-26000 rpm with no heat problems.
its a big machine

I have my 3HP water cooled spindle simply hooked up to a pump in a container with 6 litres of coolant, no fan or radiator, and no matter how many hours the machine runs, it never gets above warm.
cheers, Ian
It's a state of mind!
