is there a chance someone using lunix cnc could post the info for the stepconfig, im kinda lost and im loosing steps "i think because things have a slope on one side"
I have been fighting this issue, x axis missing steps since it was purchased. Having looked at all machanical areas and then switching the cables around to find the the issue is with the board. Could someone please explain where the pins are located that I need to put the .47uf ceramic cap? Do they go on the bottom of the board or the top? I am not a electronic guy by no means.

Rak, I see the leads attached to the TB chip but I'm not sure where to solder the leads by the the capacitor. Is there a number in the board or something to reference were to put it? Thanks for your help and patience. Todd

The second lead of the capacitors must soldered on the track located under the R51 resistances. Scratch locally the varnish. See attached picture.
Rak, thank you very much! I got it soldered on the X axis and it worked great. Now, I noticed that the Y axis is loosing a little, I will repeat steps for Y. I'm very excited. Thanks again, Todd

I also have such isuue with chinese machine, and did all, I read in this thread. But all of thiese didnt help. Only soldering 0.47 uF capacitor between pins 8 and 10 of x axis chip helped.
Hi all having the same problems loosing steps, Could someone point me in the right direction ive looked on ebay and there so many different types that come up in a search if anybody could give me a like to the right ones on ebay it would be much apprecieated. Would this be the right one on ebay and does it matter which way round it goes (is there a possitive and negative)

The TB6560 datasheet recommends to use ceramic capacitors (see attached picture). Nevertheless, any MKT, MKP, etc. capacitors should also suit In my case I used 220 nF 63V on the 3 axes and that has fixed the problem.
The capacitor shown on your ebay link has not the good value (102 = 1000 pF or 1 nF or 0.001 µF). Use at least 104 = 100000 pF = 100 nF = 0.1µF.

Got the machine yesterday havnt put it together yet and not sure if I need to do the mods..... This is the controller box I have..... Any ideas if I need to do this?
Hi Glen,
Your controller card is different from mine, but I suspect the electrical diagram is the same.
The best way to know if you need to do the mods is to make a test.
If you don't lose steps, no need to do the mods.

Ok thanks Rak, I will try the letters on the back of the stepper motors like the video and see if they go out before I put the machine together. If it needs the caps put on I will have to pop to Maplin Electronics and pick some up..... It also looks like I might be able to add limit switches on the pcb in the pictures I first posted........
One thing I did notice on the other circuit board below is it has a display connector..... the bottom one in this picture ???
RE: Earthing...
Hi I just checked my earth on the metal controller box from the earth pin of the IEC and as normal it looked ok but was not making contact with the box... I scrapped away the paint as normal for the bolt they had used on one of the feet so the box is now earthed....
So my next question is by the looks of it the there is no connection to ground on the pcb to earth. Should there be????
Does anyone have a reverse circuit of the stepper motor controller board by the way...?
Just thought I would upload pics of my controller its a 4 axis controller it has x, y, and z on one board and A axis on a seperate one.
Should get my ceramic capacitors monday/tuesday. So I will give it a go and let you know if all is working.
