How big it the foot print of the IH Turnkey CNC Mill ? I'm laying out my shop and need to know the width and depth I need for it.

To allow for full travel on all axes you will need 40” Deep x 84” Wide x 93”High (on our 28" Tall stand). We can fabricate a custom height stand at no extra charge if necessary.

OK great my ceiling is only about 89" so I may need to modify the section that I'm going to put it.

We can take 5" off the height of the stand, if you don't mind a lower than average table height.

Could one of you flip the z servo so it hangs down instead of sticking off the top, or is that not the tallest point?

Our new design (available in June) is direct drive. So flipping the servo is not an option. Even with that being the case, the top of the spindle motor is the highest point on the machine when the Z axis is at its upper most position.

If your a little short on height the mill will make its own space. Just type in Z=30 by mistake and you will have extra room.

After that I lowered the stand by 3 inches.

I did all the calculating I could on mine and I came up with a necessary depth of 50.5" to contain the servo motor on the front, and the electrical cabinet on the back. I opted to remove the electrical cabinet from the back and relocate it so I could make my base pan out of a single sheet of 48 X 96. With 2" rise on each wing, and a 3" lip everything fits with a couple inches to spare all the way around.
