I wouldn't say that. Every product has its market share. Certainly choices to be made when it comes to controls. No problem with that!
I say to each is own, all a matter of choice.

UCCNC is not even close to Centroid at this point, Centroid has been used in industrial CNC machines for many years

UCCNC is ahead of Centroid Acorn in terms of ability of customisation and I could not say anything I'm missing from it for running my 2 machines.

For me uccnc is missing lathe and seems it will take years before it will have it, if it will ever have it.

I don't have a CNC lathe and not planning to have one so that does not bother me. I've a router and a plasma machine.

Ignorance at its best, I have UNCNC control, and long before you ever had it, and it is far from where it needs to be, for a main stream control, as a Hobby control it's just another machine control

It does not compare to the Eding control, which is just another cnc control, I could add many other cnc controls also as I test them all, but what's the point, you will have your uneducated opinion

And Acorn is also just another control. It's nothing more nothing less. You can give your ignorant opinion based on your feelings without reasoning, but that will make no difference to me or to others.
I'm using UCCNC for close to 2 years on 2 machines and it works very well. You can call it hobby or whatever will make no difference to me.

And I'm not testing UCCNC, but extensively using it on my machines which is a very big difference from what you doing.

As I mentioned before, many choices out there for users. I respect the fact that you are happy with UCCNC.

But I have one for you? Why are you posting in the Centroid forum if you have no interest in it?

I posted a reply here only because the discussion included the UCCNC software and I hate when somebody posting false information about something I use daily and I really like.
Dickeybird, I too have a Ford, so what's now. Haha

Your Ignorance again, you don't know what I do, or how I test them, so how can you make that statement

When I test a control it gets at least 2 year or more before I go to another, especially when they are still under development, when I test these controls they are on real world CNC machines and work, with Ac servos, not Hobby machines with stepper motors

No one said the Acorn Breakout Board was any better than UCCNC Control, But there Centroid Control software is years ahead that is where the difference is, Acorn is still under development, as is UCCNC

You said you tested them. I said what I do is more than testing, because I'm using it daily. Where is the ignorance?!
I also have servos on one machine just FYI.
I don't see where Acorn is years ahead, but I see where UCCNC is years ahead. Maybe one day we can share opinions.

Show us where UCCNC is doing this, or even close to what is possible Centroid Control Software, enjoy

There is a fellow here in Florida that builds 4 valve heads for Datsun Z motors. He builds them from scratch creates CORE , Casts aluminum, Does ALL the finish machine work. He uses UCCNC exclusively. 4 axis servos and ATC all driven by UCCNC. I personally have done Cylinder head porting (4th and 5th axis) with Mach3 and if Mach3 can do it so can UCCNC even better.

So while Centroid does do a decent job so do others as well.

The tools are only part of the equation. A clever guy with lesser tools can do what a less than clever guy can do with top notch tools. Also water is wet and the sky is blue...maybe....depending on who you talk to at the time.

The only thing this shows is that they can generate some nice g-codes.
It does not show that the UCCNC could not do the same.
Even Mach3 could do this... and by the way this is not their Acorn control it was not available in 2013 to what the video is dated.
