    Smile Duck cast in brass

    Nice work!

    I enjoyed your tin can method further down in the blog - pouring wax into the bottom of the can, set the wax pattern and then pour investment around it. I take it that the initial layer of wax is needed to allow you to open the can with a can opener?

    I suppose you could achieve the same effect by using masking tape across the bottom of an open can (with both ends cut off).

    That is a good idea too!...I have just used hot glue and glued the tin can flask down on a board, glue the pattern and pour the investment. That works fine too.
