    New Castable Metal

We have developed a new steel that eliminates the need for heat treating by transforming to martensite at a very high temperature. So you can cast it in any shape, it transforms at a high temperature without distortion, and then it auto-tempers itself as it cools so that when you reach room temperature you have a thru-hardened, fully tempered martensitic microstructure having Rockwell Hardness of RC45. You can use it for near net shape molds and dies with complex cooling channels and uniform back-plane cavity thickness for uniform cooling etc. It is also very strong > 170 ksi yield, can be further hardened to RC60 and is very hot formable by rolling and/or forging. It is also very weldable and machinable. So it can be used virtually for most anything you want.
