    Small part casting.

Currently I have been using Petro Bond sand to cast this glove box hinge for an import car. The part made in plastic normally breaks and due to the age of the car replacement parts are no longer being made.

I made a crude hand Muller that works very well. Seeing that my castings do not require more than 50 LBS of sand this works for me.

The heat is done in my brick lined wood stove that also heats my work shop.

Parting dust on the pattern is baby powder. My goal is to cast 50 hinges to be machined by my CNC Milling Machine, a TOS FN20 conversion.

Finish of the parts is very good and the small web is less thatn .125" thick.

It looks like that petrobond is working really well for you. I'd be very interested to see the muller you've made.

    See the first post.

It is the first picture of the post with the green 6" ureathane wheel.

Just a trough made from angle Iron, place on the bench and clamp down, then bear down on the axle and roll and squeeze the sand, clay and oil mixture.

Takes a while, but it does the job.

I guess I missed that probably because I wasn't expecting to see something manually powered.

    Thanks.
