I've been searching the web but can't seem to find a company that sells styrene foam sheets that can be used to fabricate Lost Foam patterns.
I've found several home casting website talk about using styrene cups and wall insulation foam boards, but I'm thinking there has to be places out there that sell a variety of thicknesses of foam sheets that are suitable for making patterns.
I'm also looking around for any foundries that will cast one-off Lost Foam patterns in Ductile Iron. I've been told that www.IrishFoundry.com will do it, by chance can someone recommend another place to contact about my projects?
I have several projects that I'd like to make some custom patterns for including a benchtop CNC mill, CNC lathe, and live steam locomotive parts.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all for your time in reading this,

I've collected up foam from construction sites. Some of the places are using white styrene foam as a backing and insulation then putting stucco over it. I've got a couple pieces that are 4" thick. I also have a large stack of packing foam from the new washer and dryer and some electronics. I saw a 4' x 8' x 2' thick piece once in an old foundry that was closed. If I brought that home, the wife would have killed me.
