I'd like to do a molded sculpture but I'm not sure where

A little more info may be needed.

The simplest way to make a one of a kind casting is to mold it in styrofoam, the pink or blue foam works, I like the white beaded foam but it's hard to shape. After you make your piece you just bury it in sand and pour the metal in. The foam melts and the metal fills the void. Drescher3 has a couple good videos on this method.

A clay sculpture would require a lot more steps to get to metal. You-tube has a lot of instructional videos. Look under Expert-village.
