| I had some problem related to connecting the stepper motors to the controller board. Can someone give me a solution on how i can connect the motors to the board. Secondly, can the 2nd generation board work with servo motors. |

| The motors don't connect to the DeskCNC board. The DeskCNC board sends step and direction signal to motor drives, which can be either stepper or servo drives.

Encoder is for the input of quadrature signals from an incremental encoder. Used for spindle synchronization in lathe threading or for manual pulse generator. in I/O has the input connections for 4 home switches, limit/probe, e-stop, feed hold, and cycle start. I could not yet make out from any documentation, what the cycle start input on the 2nd, gen. DeskCNC controller board is for except to download a new firmware. Any additonal usage during CNC operation ? Thanks Dan |

Fred Thanks a lot for your reply. How does it react ? does it have to be a connection to gnd. or +5V to start ? just on a pulse from a push button or does the switch have to be closed for the entire cycle ? Would appreciate If you could also have a look at another thread I just started today about cam lobe scanning on a 4th. axis. Thanks in advance Paraprop |
