Need Help!- Confused with the pocketing command

I have attached a pic of what I'm trying to do; I want to pocket between the teeth of the sprocket and the large inner circle and the center circle is the bore. I do not understand how the pocket command works. Appreaciate any help. Thanks Brady

I am not a wiz kid, but the attached file was set to pocket .5 inches deep with a .125 mill cutter at 30 ipm, between the inside of the teeth and the large circle. It also will do the center bore , but I figure you could stop it when it got that far....

If I remembered what I did, I think I Declared the teeth as a Boundary and the center circle ended up being the island. Trial and error sometimes works for me!

I tried to upload the DNC file but it did not allow it to be done?? I could email to you as an attachment if needed.

you will need to pick both chains the tooth chain and the outer diameter circle chain.

chain the tooth profile to the outside,chain the outer circle to the inside.

if that doesnt work try using a contour toolpath instead using the same chaining method.

Tim, I thought he wanted to Pocket out the area between the inside of the teeth and outside of the larger circle like I have posted above? Looks like gear wheel driven from the inside with a smaller gear to turn a shaft of some sort.
He is using DeskCNC like I am... BG
