| We have been regrinding cams with Berco rocking table cam grinders since 1970. We began with automotive cams and moved into industrial camshafts. As cores became difficult to find we started manufacturing, and are now the leading manufacturer of new replacement cams, cam lobes, cam sections, and cam muffs for the industrial engine market. We started out using Cam Doctor but we've used an Adcole exclusively for about 13 years. We bought a new Landis 3L several years ago, and we have traded up since then. We now have two CNC cam grinders. Occasionally we have to manufacture a cam that is too big for our CNC grinder (for instance a cam for the Cooper GMV compressor - about 18" dia). We have been able to achieve good results using a CNC vertical mill. Clay at Kams, Inc. - cam and cam follower manufacturing and regrinding for industrial engines. |

I still haven't come any further with my project except that in the meantime I bought a cam measuring setup from Performance trends. It is a great time saver for cam evaluation and also for comparison after I do finish my cams on the old self made duplicator. As soon as I have a moment, I will look deeper into the softwares data files and see if I can use the data to make the G code for the CNC cam grinding. |
