Hey Guys

I'm having trouble finding a suitable stepper motor wire here in Canada. The cable between the motor and the controller I mean. What are you guys using and where did you get it?

What motor current, and how many conductors do you need?

Heres some 4 conductor, not in canada but shipping is reasonable: http://cgi.ebay.ca/CNC-Stepper-Motor...mZ330278000060

I have a G540 driving keling 381oz-in motors at 3.5 amps.

I have found lots of wire on ebay and the like but its all in the States. I'ld like to find something a little closer to home. But thanks anyway.

just go to a electronic supply store and just ask.

I picked up 15 meters of 18 gauge 30 strands per wire, 4 wire shielded high flex wire in a super durable outer casing. It was designed to stay flexible in -50c weather. 6$ a meter yes a meter by far cheaper than the stuff on Ebay.

lots of places, pick up yellow pages and look up electronic supplies.

I picked up mine at electronic connections in Edmonton, alberta.

One of the frequent posters on the EMC2 list raves about Canare Star Quad, a four conductor 21 gauge shielded audio microphone cable.

I haven't used it myself but have this Canadian seller bookmarked for the next time I need wire.

It may be worth giving your local music shop a call.

Nedco Electrical supply has short coils of 100 feet, in many colours and wire sizes. You might what to give that a try.
