Looking to CNC route a slot car track in Calgary

    Hi, first post here.

I'm in the process of attempting to build a slot car track and am look for someone with access to a CNC router that will route 4X8 sheets of MDF. I've designed the track in Adobe Illustrator and can expert as DFX files but those may need some tweaking. Anyone who can help me out in Calgary and region?

    Thanks in advance,

    Todd

    Cool slotcar track

Hi tod. your best bet might be to call a cabinet shop arround
cowtown. Some of them carve out kitchen cabinets with cnc routers. Some of them call themselves millwork's and cabinets. Yellowpages would be a good place to start. If the place can't help, ask for a referal. Ytube has some good vids on slotcar tracks even some HOW TO'S for diy's Google them. Good luck TBear

    slot car track

Hi Drools. Things seem to be going ok for me and the 4x4 techno isel upgrade I am doing , lots of new ideas. hope to try running the machine this weekend. I hope you are getting someware with your track. Sorry for all the spelling mistakes last post. Utube not ytube. Googled slot car tracks and found a site that teaches you how to make banked corners, from the UK I think.
I made a figure 8 track as teen, lots of crashes as it was flat
If I knew more and the router was working I would help you out. I know there are people who can do longer projects on short machines by sectioning the cuts and moving the material then carefully lining it up to finish up.
I'll keep an eye on your thread
post some pics or a vid when you can.

Here are some pics of my track. The routing was done by hand using jigs I built.
I did a complete build log, maybe something there will help you out.

    Slot car track

Hi Todd. The post I sent to Drools was for you. Got you guys mixed up somehow.???
If you go for the hand routing I just got a small router called a roto zipp, could be used as it is very handy, under $100

    Drools: awesome track!!!

    Hi Tsooko,

Thanks, I've got a hand router, trying to go one step beyond and make it using CNC. Here's a link to what I want to emulate. Same idea just a different track.

Hey Drools, nice track. I've already made a small hand routed track, just wanted to try something different with CNC routing. I've had a couple of quotes, from some commercial guys. We'll see where it goes from here.
