    cant remember name of cnc

    Hi

    This is my first post...

I actually need help from machinists.. i should be at the right place right
I have been a machinist for a few years and I was working on a big old german cnc lathe... I think she was from 1968-69 not too sure... yellow with a siemen computer. Use to work in Saskatoon on it but then moved out of province and changed of profession... Now I'm trying to find a picture of it just for memories... if someone has an idea of what i'm talking about that would be great. Sounds like an old love story lol.

Might not be that much of info but I'm not sure there is that many German cnc left from that time.

    Would be appreciated

    thanks !

There is not that much of anything in CNC at that time, it was most likely NC, the C as in Computer came later.
One of the German companies that make large machinery, particularly for the R.R. industry was Hegenshiedt.

    found it

    hey guys

Apparently my memory is pretty bad.
My machine was a Gildemeister NEF 710 and it was probably from the 80s .. far from the 60s.

    Looks exactly like that one

    thanks for the help

Gildemeister is now the 'G' in DMG batched turning centres, together with Deckel and MAHO.

Ravensburg lathes are usually 4' swing and up!

Good for you as you found what you were seeking !

I would be the same, as for many machinists, the machines we work on are a part of our lifes... and we remember them as such.

    Cheers
