Hello all:

I have been lurking on these forum for some time now and decided to join and get involved, First off im new to CnC and find these forum very informative.
I am still in the process of decided which build of the DYI CnC to go for, I have read many post on various one and each seem to have some pros and cons, I am looking for a design that i can expand later so it seems the movable gantry system seems the best as the deck can be unlimited in length. My main problem is actually finding a set of plans i can work from that are deteailed enough.

I am currently looking for a mentor in the Sudbury Ontario area that i can discuss my options with. I will be starting my first year Industrial Machinist course next year and hope to have a working prototype by then. I must add i am working on a very small budget and am trying to get most of the part for cheap. The Machanical parts are easy its the electronic components that seem to be hard to find locally.

The reason i got into CnC is that currently i carve for a hobby and came up with this outrageous idea that lead me to CnC and i think that it would be a great project to get people around the world to participate. I can elaborate more on this idea in another post when i've been active more.
