Do you even have the MK4 with MM160 ? Are you even using it to make items or just spinning motors on a table.

I have the MK4c and 4x MM160. It works fine once you sort all the bad information provided by Soc Robotics in the Ebay auction and spend time exchanging Emails with Stephen. Mine did smoke but I cought it in time. It has to do with the enable pins and the TB6560 chip. You can go read the other threads regarding the TB6560 driver chip.

    Sot, are you getting this.

Hey Rob.. Show me the Gecko schematic you are referring too.

Or is it this one : Gecko Alliance .:. Welcome

Man you should clam up before you say something real stupid like this.

    Marc N Fournier
Nema 23's are 12V generally and run about 2.2 Amp. As for your comment about saying something stupid I suggest you look at yourself. The Geko works on the same principal, I really don't see your argument here.

Yet another contradiction, if the chip was smoked when he tested the chip using the logic controller provided by his friend why are they all fine? Smoke means dead, no chip smokes and works after.
Also I own the MK4 the mill it moves is found here I have never experienced any smoke.
What Bad information are you talking about pertaining to the SOC website? I see information and none of it bad. They have other products hence the list of data. I also noticed how you knew what xml file to use and how you suggested he use it to potently fix a problem... ohh wait that was me, you for some reason thought it would be a good Idea to remove resistors from the MK5. Also the MKC is a product not being sold by SOC yet, it is coming on the market and was designed for use mainly in the 3D printer, the open source version. Where are you using the MK4 and the MK5 by the way, since you own both of them you must have a use for them, and why refer to another board when you have the exact same one he does?
You over complicate things and void warranty for what? How many quality posts do you have anyway? You are new to this Forum and website and it shows.

I have pictures of the MK4 and the MM160's on my website at whatisacnc.com.
If your MK5 is cooked it is because you did something wrong, knowing Steve it would have been replaced if it was his fault.
Again (KISS) Keep It Simple Stupid.

Do you buy electronics from BestBuy and pull Resistors or capacitors off of them to get them to work properly? If it's a common expectation to have to rip things apart to have them function properly I have been lucky or things aren't working right for me, because I have never had to that myself.

If the MK5 is at fault it your own doing.

Just in case you need proof that the Nema 23 is 12V Phidgets Inc. - 3307_0 - 57BYG621 NEMA-23 Bipolar 76mm Stepper also for some reason you figured he had nema 34's and a couple Nema 23's .... Do you see the problem now with assuming they where 34's? Or do I need to point it out to you. Are you getting this SOT?

Actually wait maybe you need to add a few jumpers and resistors, I will post with the steps to take.... And be sure to use 40V for the MK4 like Marc said

Also if you read what I wrote, I didn't make a suggestion it was a statement.

How is saying that Mach3 doesn't like running on a laptop a suggestion? It is a fact.
Again it has to do with the BIOS clock, and Mach3 is a separate OS, hence the force restart after install, the BIOS clock on a Laptop doesn't cut it so using that laptop is not the best idea. If you don't believe me go to the Mach3 forum section of this website and look it up yourself.
I am tired of trying to help you given your attitude.

Where did you learn how to read.. or do you have some type of reading difficiency.

Did you notice he ran his demo on his laptop.. geee.. I run mine on a laptop also.. Geeee.. Major Geee hey....

He said he replaced the chips on the MM160, you know the TB6560 chips from Toshiba. Oh I forgot it took you how much time to figure that part out...

He has a bunch of TB6560 chips on hand. He said so about 15 posts back. If you read more carefully and stopped blabering how good you are you might learn something.

Browsed your web site. Must say you are good at the cut and paste from Wikipedia and other sources. At least if you changed some words so it was not so easy to trace back.

So if you want to continue on with your monologue, go right ahead... Or bettre yet, shut up and go play in the sand box with the other kids your age. Maybe they will be impressed with your vast knowledge of cat poop.

I'd love to get us both thrown out of here.

You would not be of great loss to the community at large.

Go fix your MILL.. Oh by the way that is not a MILL it is the most ugliest table I have ever seen with a computer and screen.. Where did you hide the mill. Or is it suppose to be that gathering of plumbers left overs you call a lathe.

Had you been polite, in the broadest sense of the word, you might have had merrit. But you elected to be pompous and as subtle as cow pie. Most of what you posted is crap and showed you know very little on the subject but have one big mouth.

I do not need you. I need you like a hole in the head. You need people like us to show you the way and correct you when you fall out of the tree but can't figure out which one you fell out of.

Should I go on or do you catch the jist of the message... Judging by your reading skills I probably lost you on the third line.. if you got that far..

So long you major ass from BC. if you'r ever in Quebec... drive strait thru to the other ocean and leap off the edge. Maybe you will discover the world is not flat after all, it was just your brain all along.

I will say it again, Mach3 does not like to run on a Laptop. I did't say it would not emulate on a laptop. If you use Mach3 to control a CNC you will encounter problems.
You are the one calling names and being immature, I have yet to insult you directly.
In the picture of the mill you are looking at; you see a monitor that swings open to expose three axis inside and a Dremel. The mill is sitting on a simple box with some casters on the bottom, the mill can be moved off the base but I like the option of being able to roll the unit around. I will have some video soon, just been busy with things.

Thanks for looking over the website, (I have a few all free) I am sure you also found some interesting stuff, like that 3D printer. As for this forum being a Monologue; last I checked you participated in the conversation.
Finally, yes you are correct he stated that he replaced several chips and "smoked them" hence my statement about the contradiction. Just a friendly suggestion, try to look at yourself and your shortcomings before pointing out other peoples; maybe you are the one with the problem. Besides I never claimed to be the best at reading, and never said I know everything because I don't. And the Community may not miss me but that's alright, I do this because I find it interesting and fun, not to prove anything or to be better than you.
