| "Error 5: 3 Axis toolpath not generated because ms.dll cannot be loaded or is not found." I cannot figure out why CamWorks 2008 will not generate 3 axis tool paths. It worked for 18 months and now I get the message above. I am not sure what changed. I have re-installed CW I have re-installed SolidWorks The same installation versions and service packs work on my laptop - just painfully slow. I have compared every file, searched the registry, my reseller has spent hours on the issue. Has anyone seen this? |

| A little more information would be helpful. What OS are you using? What versions of SolidWorks and CW are you using? What SP's for both? My guess is that unknown to you, Microsoft did an update and dropped a file. Or you may have a virus. Jeff Lange

| Both Desktop and Laptop...... XP Home2002 SP2 (32 bit) SW 2007 SP4 CW 2008-07 SP0.1 and SP2 (tried both) LAPTOP 1GB RAM 128k video PentiumM 1.7Ghz ATI Rdeon Mobile Desktop AMD Athelon 64 Dual Core 4GB RAM (2.75 allocated for 32bit windows) 512MB video Nvidia Dual GeForce 8000GTX in SLI Don't know if there are any viruses....yet. I have un-installed and re-installed a few times trying different service packs along the way. The last try I even cleared out all Teksoft/VERO/Geometric/CAMworks entries from the registry. I am focusing on the differences between the laptop and the desktop. Intel vs. AMD ATI vs. Nvidia Neither of those things seems like they would have any effect on CamWorks calling ms.ll. After some research, "ms.dll" is a VERO product called Machining Strategist and seems to be the computational engine for generating 3D toolpaths. Thanks for taking a moment to think about this.....doing 3D on my ancient laptop is pure pain! |

| If you provide me with your email address I will send you the ms.dll file. It is located in the CamWorks root directory. One note, I do not know if mine will work with your configuration as I am using SolidWorks 2008 with CamWorks 2008-08. It is worth a try though. Jeff Lange
