    AFR FAILURES WITHIN COPIED PARTS

Can anyone confirm to me where the problem lies with copied parts with CW data that then have the AFR features modified. For example a hole in a donor part is modified in the copy but CW still drills the hole in the original position. My CW reseller says it is a SW issue as the internal ID of the feature is changed when modified ( I THINK THAT WAS WHAT THEY MEANT ) but this does not seem to answer my question and our SW reseller is not sure. I cant see how just modifying a feature would do this and why CW behaves as it does. The copying and modifying of donor parts is a big part of our work and
it would help if we could use AFR fully.

I guess it depends on the version of each.

I had a problem with engrave features not updating when the sketch changed. I would have to delete the toolpath, keep the operation, click edit operation, click okay, then update the toolpath, and then it would update and generate the new toolpath. This was with versions before 2007, 2007 and later it worked okay.

I've only had the internal ID change become a problem whenever it involved surfaces, not features like holes and pockets.

I can only recommend making sure you have the recent service packs for both Solidworks and Camworks.

You can also try asking the people on the Teksoft forum, someone there should be able to verify the problem and may have a solution or a work around for it.
