CWX SP2.1 for 2008

There's an update for Camworks on teksoft.com

SP2.1 for 2008

I haven't had a change to test it yet. The only problem I was having with SP2.0 was a sprial ramp feature wasn't working correctly. I'll post an update early next week.

Spiral ramping doesn't work.
It will simulate, but no Z moves are send to the post.

Our Spiral ramp features work. Maybe your post processor needs work. You may try something like this:

:SECTION=ARC_MOVE_MILL
:T:<N><G:ARC_DIR><X!><Y!><Z!><I!><J!><F><EOL>
*
:SECTION=RADIUS_MOVE_MILL
:T:<N><G:ABSINC><G><X!><Y!><Z!><R!><F><attributes><EOL>

Thanks Jeff,

I'll have to add that to a new PP. The one I'm using didn't come with the source and the var I had wouldn't give it to me.

Over on the CWX forum I posted a message about the same problem with SP2.0 and Glenn replied it was a bug in the roughing pocket, he didn't think it would be fixed in SP2.1

It's not a big problem anyway, I switch to a ramp and it does the same job.

added** That was CWX 08 for SWX 07, I haven't tried it in 08-08 yet.

IMO your VAR is a POS for not supplying you with the necessary information you need to get the job done. You purchased the software from them and you probably have yearly maintenance agreements you pay them as well. That really bites.

I will supply you with source code if you need and if I have it.

Oh..I agree with you Jeff.

I've asked my old a number of times for the source and each time they gave me a lame excuse that it was compiled with a program other than the UPG.

I said I didn't believe them, they didn't care...
After a month of asking them to put together a PP for my lathe, I gave up on them. I never called them back for anything. I have a new VAR and yes, I need to contact them about both PP's but I haven't gotten to it yet.

Thanks for the offer on the PP.
I contacted my VAR about the PP's, it's 250.00 per machine, I have 5, and they will give me the source. We are going to go ahead and buy them, the money isn't the problem at all, it's a good deal. We just have to devote the time to get the ball rolling here, I work at a University...lots of red tape, approvals, have to talk to so and so...and other BS that has to happen before any thing can happen. And I think that was the problem with the first VAR, we have an education license that we only paided 500.00 for 5 years...and the post processers were to be free....free yes, easy to get? NO.

I got the basic source from teksoft before they removed the downloads.
We are in the 1st summer session now. I'll get a 2 week break between summer sessions the beginning of July, so I can devote the time then.

Thanks again,

Scott

Scott,
Let me know which source file you need. I have most of the files going way back. Maybe I could get you one that is close and you can modify. It may not be the money but it sure is the principal. Someone is trying to screw you out of $500.00 for something that they did not even create. Most of my experience with most of the VARs is that they barely know how to use the software let alone modify or create post processors.
