    3 Axis finish

Hi, I am new to CAMWorks. I do have problem with 3 axis milling. Somehow CAMWorks does not recognize the model and cuts through the model and with some patterns is does a stupid tool path, like feeding up and down in Z where it should use x and Y. For example cutting a chamfer at the top of a block.
Can anybody give me direction to this?

what is the model drawn in ?, you may find that the fault is in the model with surfaces being transparent, thats why Camworks machines through them

For that chamfer, use a 2.5 axis boss feature, fine strategy, and select changer machining in the contour tab.

Uncheck the option in the Advanced tab for point-to-point output. You could use the arc fitting in this tab as well.

Thanks for ur reply, Bsuchland i have tried that. did not work. I think the post processor is not doing it. we just got a default post processor which comes with camworks. WHAT DO U THINK?

When you define a multi surface feature you must also define the faces to avoid.

In general, it is easier to just select all the surfaces to define the feature and use contain and avoid areas to isolate what you want to machine.

In your case, you are actually doing a 2.5 axis part.
